1. Kalam Achievers Awards
The Kalam Achievers Awards is a competition held annually in India during Kalam Youth Summit which selects and promotes the best practice and excellence in youth creativity. By demonstrating a young person’s potential to create an outstanding nation built on entrepreneurship, KAA aims at recognizing India’s leaders of tomorrow today. It provides an opportunity for people from all walks of life to work together to address national developmental challenges in various fields like, the Arts, Health, Education, Gender and access to better lives.

2. Dr. Kalam Panchayat Ratna Awards
There are wide gaps in the availability of physical and social infrastructure between rural and urban areas. To address these issues, the President of India A.P.J. Abdul Kalam highlighted a vision of transformation of rural India by launching a large-scale mission for Provision of Urban Amenities in Rural Areas (PURA). The vision of PURA states that transformation of India to a ‘developed’ country can only be realised if we launch a mega mission for empowering the rural people. This can be possible by creation of Physical, electronic and knowledge connectivities leading to economic connectivity in villages. Such a model of establishing a circular connectivity among the rural village complexes will accelerate rural development process by empowerment.
In order to appreciate and devise an appropriate structure of incentives and to recognize and encourage the Young Leaders of Panchayats for outstanding performance through effective Gram Sabhas, especially in respect of improvements in the social, cultural and economic structure of the village.
The objective for this award is to incentivise excellence in performance of Gram Panchayats through effective gram sabhas. It is expected that the Award will not only be a step to energise the Gram Sabahs will encourage the Gram Panchayats to organise more gram sabhas and encourage people’s participation for promotion transparency & accountability, and uses of IT, modern science approaches, promotion of local art & culture, sports etc about holistic development of the village.
